The day before Ramadan, when Muslims reflect on their connection to Allah, a black Muslim father must decide whether his daughter's teenager's dream to experience Prom reflects her spirituality.
Afia is a high school senior excited about Prom, dress shopping and experiencing her first American dance. Charles loves his daughter and is conflicted in letting Afia go to the dance if it means neglecting her Islamic faith. The will of a teenager and the love of a father collide in this story of clashing cultures and their preservation of trust.
