INFO
I'm a music composer / producer / sound designer, originally from Kolkata, India, and currently based in Los Angeles California, where I currently work as a composer's assistant to Austin Wintory (Journey, Stray Gods, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate) . I've also worked with Tom Howe (Ted Lasso), Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story), Inon Zur (Dragon Age, Fallout), Todd Haberman (9-1-1: Lonestar), Michael Levine (Cold Case, The Lost Pirate Kingdom), Ian Nickus (Friends, Power Rangers: Ninja Storm, Naruto).

I also work as a live sound engineer at First Baptist Church of Glendale, and run A/V tech at orchestral events for UCLA Game Music Ensemble, UCLA Early Music Ensemble, and other groups.

I draw inspiration from several sources, from garage post-rock, to musical theater, to Bengali folk songs, to shouty metal bands, to ambient electronic music. I'm a tech enthusiast and I like to live somewhere at the blurry edge between handcrafted organic textures and electronic chaos - somewhere that speaks to the weirdness and contradictions inherent to the experience of being alive.

I love experiencing different forms of self expression through art. I especially love animation and I absolutely adore working with animated films, and have worked with several filmmakers and animators from Columbia, as well as St Xavier's College Kolkata (Autonomous), Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, and Whistling Woods International Mumbai.

I also have a keen interest in sample library building, and have worked on a number of large video game projects building custom VSTs, and have also released a couple of fun DIY libraries on Pianobook.

As a music producer I've worked with several artists in the Indian independent music scene. I was a founding member of Sylheti-English folk fusion band Whale in the Pond, and I did all the synth programming and mixes, as well as playing multiple instruments and overseeing live sound. I've also been associated with Rivu, Deep Phoenix, Bidishah, Parekh & Singh, The Jhansi Way, Zachary Daniel Ray, Coup Jean, and others.

I've also worked freelance as a composer / producer / music editor with several content and media agencies in India including Studio Fiction, Brandmusiq, iFood Web Media, Graphics InfoMedia, Nock Inc, Parodevi Pictures.

As an educator, I've worked extensively with the Lai Roy team in Kolkata as a choir instructor and music director for musicals with several schools across the city, including Lion King (Mahadevi Birla World Academy, 2016), and Hunchback of Notre Dame (Akshar, 2018). I taught piano & keyboards at Shri Shikshayatan school from 2019 - 2021.
I've also regularly worked with NGOs teaching music to underprivileged children. In 2024 I co-wrote a musical adaptation of Vikram Seth's The Elephant and the Tragopan, in association with Hummingbird School, Majuli, Assam, and travelled to the school to work with the students and teach the material. Since 2017 I've been involved with Slumjam, the music program of Responsible Charity. For two years I worked with Seagull Foundation's Peaceworks program, in association with Kolkata Police's Nabadisha initiative.
I have also taught piano, composition, and music theory classes privately since 2013.

I received my MFA in Music Composition for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago in 2023. While in Chicago, I interned for several months at Area 44 Music, as well as serving as a teaching assistant in the music department of the college.
